placemats

Felting 6 placemats, fitting the curtains of my Friend Martin, was the project for this summer:


(so this is the room with the curtains)
I found some leftovers of the curtains in the attic, and since it was cotton, I thought it could be nice to use them for some nunofelting. I cut them up in six equal pieces and then started to felt them. I wanted them to be all different.









So this is a table (in my house, not his yet) with all six:



I liked it a lot to be working on them. Had been a long time ago since I had been felting with this mucht inspiration!

update Fabric pages

this fabric page I made for Carole in april, her theme was 'fantasy':




Then, in may, I made a fabric page for Marja M, here theme was "doors":


(someone had just found the key to open the door of my heart that month - so this was the only thing I could make at that moment :) )

And then, in june, I made 'big bang' for Marja B.(as one cannot see in this picture, the rays are made of glow-in-the-dark threads).

March's fabric pages have been sent! Both Marije (who made one for me in the theme 'meow, peep, ribbet, tsjilp") and me (I made one in the theme 'country life' for Hennie) had sheep as the main idea - very funny!
is is the one I made - my idea of the perfect country life is having your own sheep in your own backyard so you will never ever run out of wool to process :)

sunshine award

Last week, Ilana sent me this message: " I was given a Sunshine Award which I'm meant to pass along to others. I chose you because because my cursor becomes a sheep on your blog. And because while you write in another language your felt is universal.."

Well, tnx Ilana for 'reading' my posts (have you found the google translator in the upper right corner yet? Well, it translates badly :) but it works for me if I want to read russian blogs too :)

So, this award helped me to do what I was planning to do for some time: find out which blogs at this moment are my absolute favourites. fabric page februari '10

Februari page van mij, voor Magda: 'rust roest'. Achtergrondverhaaltje: 'rust roest', dus heb ik naaldvilt in een roestbadje 3 weken laten rusten. Vervolgens het lapje gevilt (en goudkleurig metaalorganza meegevilt). Ik had gehoopt op diepe plooien en veel nuances roest-tinten. Die waren er niet; nóg een week in een roestig potje opgepropt laten rusten. Nog steeds niet naar mijn zin. Die vouwen, plooien en kreukels heb ik er toen dus maar opgeborduurd...rust roest, zoals het spreekwoord zegt - ik heb niet stilgezeten :)

fabric pages swap

Op de viltclub doe ik mee aan een fabric pages swap. 19 vrouwen hebben zich opgegeven om elke maand een 'page' van 15x15 cm te maken voor één van de anderen in het thema van die persoon. Op de laatste dag van de maand gaat de page op de post....

Mijn eerste page maakte ik voor Cora, zij koos het thema 'muziek":

Experimentje: kun je gras invilten? Ja, dat kan - als je het héél voorzichtig doet tenminste. De planning is 4 nieuwe hoesjes voor de lamp boven mijn tafel, ik heb er pas ééntje af. Maar 't is wel een mooi lichtje :)




Productie tijdens de 'lol met wol-dag' van november '09: een handschoen. De basis is zwart; daarop heb ik metaaldraad (kerstversiering ooit gekocht bij Xenos), en daarbovenop witte chiffon in de vorm van de handschoen. De scheiding tussen chiffon en de zwarte wol bedekt met een rand van rode plukjes (terwijl je werkt denk je dat je het netjes doet, als ie klaar is zie je dat het best netter had gekund....) Midden op de want een roos á la Judit Pocs. Ik heb er maar eentje, die decoratief hangt te wezen in mijn hal. Het metaaldraad prikt erdoorheen dus draagbaar is ie niet, en - sssst, niet verder vertellen - de roos zit eigenlijk niet zo heel goed vastgevilt.... maar de foto is leuk :)

Workshop Andrea: tas

tas, gemaakt tijdens een workshop van Andrea, half december '09. Hengsels moet ik nog steeds vilten... maar wat in het vat zit, verzuurt niet! Op dit moment ligt hij, opgevuld en wel, op de bank te doen alsof ie een kussen is ipv een tas. Ook leuk :)
Op de foto van de achterkant zie je een beetje glitters; dat komt door de angelina fibers die onder het chiffon zijn meegevilt. Mooi spul, dat angelina - ben er een beetje verliefd op geworden geloof ik!
De gebruikte techniek voor deze tas heeft Andrea afgelopen zomer trouwens geleerd in Finland van Elina Saari

De Hengsels voor de tas wil ik trouwens gaan maken van hetzelfde vilt als onderstaande ketting. Bij de eerstvolgende wolkaravaan ga ik daarmee aan de slag.

poezentheemuts revisited

Eind november ontving ik de volgende email:

Hoi Colette,

Heel graag zou ik je willen spreken over deze prachtige theemuts. Ik zou hem nl. nog graag voor mijn nichtje wilen maken als surprise voor Sinterklaas. Nu moet ik natuurlijk nog het model tekenen, dat kan ik wel maar kost veel tijd. En aangezien mijn kinderen regelmatig om me heen zijn, kom ik daar slecht toe. Vandaar dat ik je deze gunst vraag... is er misschien een mogelijkheid het patroon van je te kopen / krijgen... zodat ik wat sneller aan het naaien kan slaan? ik hoor heel graag van je... je maakt echt prachtig werk! Toevallig had ik het uitgewerkte patroon ook daadwerkelijk liggen. Ik heb hem dus voor Marit gescand en gemaild, onder voorwaarde dat ik het resultaat mocht zien en publiceren. Dat mocht :) En het resultaat mag er zijn, kijk maar!



Marit, dank je wel voor het compliment, en excuses dat het zo lang heeft geduurd. Ik was even druk met andere dingen dan bloggen :)
